Keep Grinding. (42 & 43)

Happy Father's Day!

     Just wanted to let you know how much I love you Dad. I was once asked who my perfect role model was in Sunday School here in Korea and I noticed Jesus Christ was already up on the board so I went with the next best thing. 제 아보지입니다! (My Father!). Everyone nodded in a agreement because they could just sense how wise of a choice that was. Or maybe because they must've wished they had a Dad as cool as me. But seriously, I cannot thank you enough you've gotten me through some rough times and I am always amazed at the work you put in for our family. Im especially grateful for how well you and Mom get along as well. You two just make a dynamic duo and I am so blessed and honored to be your son.

The Restoration.

This last week I had the wonderful opportunity to finally teach the Restoration to someone. An inactive member family who has a younger daughter who wants to get baptized. She is 9 years old so she has to take the lessons from us. She lives with her Mom and her older brother who is 17 years old. He is actually the only young man in the entire ward, everyone else is either in primary or a prospective Elder haha. So, the goal is to prepare his younger sister for baptism and then have him baptize her. Which would be really awesome if I could see that happen. Unfortunately she wants to get baptized on her birthday which is all the way in November! 

Anyways, It was the first time I taught the first discussion to someone in Korean which is crazy considering I've been a missionary for 10 months now. All in all, the lesson went great and she seemed to really like it. Or maybe she just liked the candy we gave her after haha.

Also side note I just found out this week she is actually 8 years old and her birthday is in November. So the main reason we are meeting with her is so we can get her family back to church. Either way still a great opportunity haha.

Social Media Leaders

These past two weeks have been insanely busy in terms of social media work. This transfer Elder Curtis and I are whats called "Social Media Leaders" for our zone. What that means is we have to film and assign videos for the Korea social media page. This week the tech Elders in the office needed us to assign/film a bunch of videos. Along with that they had us write 18 scripts. Its kind of different work but I love it. 

We had to film this video for our social media page called "Walk With Christ Korea" and it was basically me sitting in front of the camera speaking a pre-written script we wrote. However for some reason it took me like 20 takes to get it right! So if you haven't seen it I edited together a wholesome little blooper reel of me trying to say all my lines. It can be on my Google Photos. Ha!

Conclusion

Lastly, we had interviews and I also went on an exchange with an Elder from Canada. His name is Elder Auguste Talbot. Pretty cool dude. 

During our role play at interviews this week we had to teach the first lesson in Korean by ourselves with Sister Kwak the mission president's wife. All things considered I think I did pretty well. She said I had improved by a lot since last time she saw me. So, big win!

This next week is the last real week before we get transfer calls. I've been here in Gongju close to 4 or 5 months now so chances I stay for another are decently low. But, you never know. 

We challenged our friend Reden to baptism one night with a member over the phone and he said he would think about it. Prayers people.

All in all, decent week. Its getting wicked hot and its kind of driving me insane but its all good. Thats about it from me!
