Hey!

Its good to be writting to you all! Being in the Provo MTC for about 6 weeks has really been an expierience. My testimony has been growing so much and I have been feeling the spirit the most i've ever felt in my entire life. However it being the 6th week it starting to get old. As my Dad put it, "Its MTC groundhog day." Hes right its the exact same thing every week. If it weren't for conference last week I would've been saying this in my last email. This week has been good though... Just slow haha! That being said lets talk about what happened this week.

To start I want to begin with my favorite day of the week tuesday devotionals! This week it was Susan H. Porter the General Primary President. Her talk was very unique as it was the first one where she wanted audience participation. She sarted out asking questions to all of us and a couple of missionaries answered the questions and then she responded. Honestly the talk its self felt all over the place and not structured very well. But it has some great quotes here is my favorite one:

"Change your heart from serving from a sense of duty to a sense of Love."

I love that she said this. Because when I had started my mission I had always thought of it as a preisthood responsibility and that it was just something I had to do. Now I understood that I was also going because there were people that needed me specifically. But now week 6 I am actually starting to care and love more for the people out in Korea and I am not even there yet! Apart from that we had a great district counsel afterward.

Here is a funny moment: I cant remember what day this was but in our Korean class the teacher had set up a game of charades and split the classroom up into two teams. Basically someone from each team was given a random vocab word and they had to act it out in front of the class. Then everyone on each team has to guess what that word is. Well, to be expected a bunch of 18 year olds straight out of high school obviously took this game way too seriously. It got to the point where it was a close game I think (honestly, I could not care what the actual score was lol). The round that ended the game in catastrophe went like this. Two people went up to the front on each team and began acting out the word. Everyone is screaming random words until Elder Hales pulls out his phone to start guessing even more words. Until out of nowhere Elder Boyce, on the other team, sprints over to Elder Hales and snatches his phone from his hand. Elder Boyce tosses it to someone and then they toss it to someone on the other side of the room. Elder Hales, like an angry bull, books it from his desk and full swan dives directly onto Sister Wi's desk and shatters her handheld whiteboard to pieces. Safe to say he did not stick the landing.

Another crazy thing that happened was on thursday at like 8pm an abulance was called by the dorms. We were sitting in our classroom which is on the fourth floor of the T4 building which looks over the entire MTC campus. At the time we had no idea what was going on so we kind of just carried on with class. It wasn't until the next morning on friday when me and companion got first hand knowledge on what had happened. Me and him were walking toward the classrooms from our dorm in the morning and there was this Elder and his companion walking to the travel office with a suitcase. Curious I asked him where he was off to. The Elder with the suitcase said,

"I'm goin' home."

Me being more curious I asked,

"Aw bro... What happened?"

This Elder then proceeds to tell me that he has a severe conussion from the previous night. How you might ask? Here are his words,

"Well I was told that in the dorm room I had been running as fast as I could and dove head first directly into the top of the metal door frame and knocked myself out."

Safe to say he too did not stick the landing. The MTC are sending him home because they don't know what else he may have done to himself. Poor kid.

This same Friday we had the opportunity to visit the Temple. After 3 weeks the MTC stops scheduling them for you so we had to schedule it ourselves. We went to the Provo City Center Temple and it was the most gorgeous Temple I've seen. We did endowments there and the rooms we were in were amazing! It was the first time I had ever moved into a different room during the actual endowment. Normally at the Bountiful temple you just stick in the same room but in this one we went into 2. The first represented the Telestial Kingdom and all the walls and ceiling had hand painted animals, mountains, stars, and other things on earth. I especially remember this huge tiger on the wall that was laying down on its side just staring directly at me with little rabbits and birds all around it. I was sitting on the right side of the room and on that wall there were this big lion and lioness just chillin looking around with this lake behind them. It was so cool! The second room represented the Terrestial Kingdom and is was about what you would expect. It was just a big white room with these two great big lights hanging down from the ceiling. The unique part about this room was there was this large blue stained glass window behind where were sitting. Mind you to get to this room we walked up a literal spire in a castle. Oh man it makes excited to see even more Temples in my life. Especially the one in Seoul Korea if I get the chance to go.

Apart from that this week as I said at the beginning was slow and mundane. But its still fun to look at some of the smaller things that happened during the day. I really enjoyed talking with Mom and Dad on the phone for a combined total of around 6 hours on Satuday. It was kind of funny to hear that nothing insane was happening back at home either. Something funny I have started to notice has been throughout the weeks I have started to miss certain things back home that I wouldn't normally. One of the funny ones has been Grampa Watt's cologne "CK One" the reason I bring this up is because it just so happens that there is an Elder in my district who brought a bottle of it with him. So, I've been sneaking into his room every morning and wearing some of it ha! Who knew CK One would remind so much of home!

This email might be my shortest one but hopefully I made up for it with some pictures. I mean I did promise that I would take more haha! I love getting emails/messages from everyone. Sorry I don't respond too often I just get so busy but trust me I read every word. I miss you all so much but The Lord's work needs to get done somehow so I am going to keep trucking along and hopefully this next week will be something to remember!

Can't wait to see you Korea. You have 2 and half weeks to prepare for this beast.

Love y'all

Elder Christensen
