NEW CHAPTER? Week 26

Waddup.

This week was pretty eventful mainly because it was the last real week of the transfer. Unfortunately it will also be the last real week before a significantly large change. So, lets get into it!

The Farewell Party

This week we had a Farewell party here in Gokbanjeong and it was for Sister Hess who has finished her misson. The amount of stuff that the ward has us do was actually insane. We had a combined total of about 5 musical preformances (Including us). Along with a bunch of food and a huge portrait of Sister Hess hung infront of the pulpit. Elder Sassing was tasked with setting up the sound system, the powerpoint, and projector. He got all that done in about 2 hours, he’s amazing. Anyway it was pretty bitter sweet for all of us. But I didn't think the Farewell Party for Sister Hess would be just for her... because, well...

The Transfer Call

Should I just rip off the bandaid? If you havent I suggest looking at my google photos album and view the transfer call video to see our reactions. If you have seen it then you would know that I got some bad news...

I will officially be moving to 공주 (Gong Ju). Which is about 2 hours down south of where I am right now. In a completely different zone and vibe. My companion is Elder Willis who is an American. My current Companion Elder Centeno described him as "My white friend who is nice and smart!" Thanks bro that really describes him well... Not really sure who he is or really how long he has been out. I do know however that he has been in this area for at least 3 transfers. He is also the district leader. Which means that makes the...

DL WIFE FOR THE FOURTH TIME! (I hate exchanges).

I swear im not struggling and I don't think I am a bad missionary but putting me with a leader for the 5th time is a little concerning. (Note from Mom: she thinks I’m just very adaptable and able to help District Leaders well)

Conclusion

I move Friday this week and that means I have to pack everything back up. Also the mission has given me about 2000 of these "Business cards" but they are about 3x the size of normal business cards. I have a box of all of them that weigh about 20lbs. They also don't have our number or anything written on them because they are expecting us to use them for the rest of our mission. So, that means I have to manually hand write the number, church address, and social media on all 2000 of them. I am not gonna lie I probably the best picture out of every single missionary in the mission. (I have no idea how it got approved).

Anyway, I hope you all have a good week. Ill see ya down south.

Love Y'all

-Elder Christensen

Note from mom: Tate has loved living in a 4 man apartment. He has loved his companions and his house mates in Suwon. Tate has never been one for change but this new area clearly needs him. He’s always stopped and asked if he’s a foreigner and when he answers in Korean he gets the best reaction. I think he’s getting much better at the language! He loves the ward members and will truly miss them. I’ve looked at pictures of his new area and it actually has mountains (large hills) and Tate loves mountains. It’s a very ancient city with rich history. It is also known for its food! I’m not complaining about him being 2 hrs further South! Hes going to adapt well and I think he will be surprised how much he will love a change of scenery! I can’t imagine having to say goodbye to people you’ve grown to love knowing you may never see them again. Believe it or not but Tate is pretty sentimental but will never admit it.

Goodbye celebration for sister Hess
