Hello!
I hope all of you are doing well. I myself am doing great the start of the new transfer is going great! Speaking of which lets talk about it!
The Third Transfer Begins
To start I'll let you know what the transfer plans were. I am staying in my wonderful area of Gokbanjeong and I am living with Elder Sasing, Elder Koo, and my new companion Elder Centeno. My old companion, Elder Yoo, left to Suji and is going to replace the APs the next transfer. Elder Coder also left and his new area is Camp Humphery's which is the largest military base in Korea. Most of the people in that area are American so he will be speaking quite a lot of english from what I've heard. My new companion is from the Philippines and he is a goofy guy. He has only a couple months left on his mission so he's quite an old missionary. He has some great korean which is good because I am still lacking in that department haha. He came from one of the most southern areas of the mission where it is mainly just wilderness. My area is city and only city so he is pretty excited for the significant change. Because I have been here for a transfer already that means I am leading the area. So, its been kind of different being the one leading him to places and introducing him to friends and members. He is also the district leader so that makes me the "DL wife" for the third time. Time to get ready for even more exchanges!!!
Anyway, I am excited for this transfer and I hope it will go well.
Conclusion.
Not a crazy ton to talk about this week. As the changes are not that different. We are working to introduce my new companion to all of our friends and members along with just continuing to build our relationship with them. I've started to realize that I have really started to love people a lot more. I have grown such a strong compassion towards people and I felt so happy about the work I am doing. However, I have also felt so sad for all these people who reject our message and also the people who decide not to change. We have many people we are teaching who just refuse to make commitments and it just breaks my heart because I have started to learn how amazing and wonderful this gospel is and how much joy it brings when you choose to follow it. I've questioned how someone can't see how amazing this church is or if I haven't been doing enough to show them. But I have learned that agency is a real thing and sometimes all you can do is just show love and hope they make the commitment to change.
I know that the choices we make to show love towards others as Jesus Christ would do makes an impact. So, I hope all of us can continue to show more love towards others.
I love you guys, and thanks for the birthday wishes! Crazy to think that 19 year old me will only exist in Korea. Also, found out that I just hit the 5 month mark of the mission. Man time flies.
Love y'all,
-Elder Christensen

Elder Christensen with his new comp Elder Centeno

They got to work immediately

It’s definitely colder in Korea than Utah
